A magnitude four earthquake has rocked the coast of Western Australia, with tremors felt in several towns south of Perth.

Geoscience Australia has received six reports so far of people who felt the earthquake, which hit a 10km ocean depth about 260km from Albany.

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake has been recorded off the coast of Western Australia. The quake was detected 260km from Albany on the southern coast of WA at a depth of 10km at 10.45am local time on Thursday.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 has been recorded off the Western Australian coast. Geoscience Australia recorded the quake offshore in the Southern Ocean off the coast of the D’Entrecasteaux National Park – about 380km south of Perth – in WA about 10.
