Police charged two women Wednesday with drug possession with the intent to distribute during a traffic stop in Eldersburg; police say they discovered capsules of fentanyl and baggies and vials of crack cocaine in their vehicle.

After several tips that three people were supplying fentanyl to vulnerable individuals downtown, Guelph police issued three search warrants on Wednesday morning at addresses on Willow Road and Waterloo Avenue.

Tens of thousands of people could have died from all the fentanyl recently confiscated early Thursday morning during a traffic stop, authorities said.
