Chennai and nearby districts are set to receive heavy rainfall due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. IMD has issued yellow alerts as rain is expected to intensify across Tamil Nadu through November 15.

It continued raining in Chennai the entire night. Adyar, Meenambakkam, and Nandanam received 6 cm overnight. Wednesday was expected to be isolated heavy rainfall in a few places with conditions likely to ease out on Thursday. In view of this precautionary measure, schools were shut down in Perambalur, Ariyalur and Cuddalore districts.

Chennai also saw heavy rainfall overnight with areas such as Adyar, Meenambakkam, and Nandanam receiving 6cm of rain. However, schools and colleges in the city will remain functional on Wednesday and Thursday.
