On a root level, the upcoming Marvel movie Thunderbolts* appears to be the studio’s answer to DC’s The Suicide Squad. We get an ensemble of recognizable villains forced to “play nice together” and complete a mission.

The new trailer debuted at D23 Brazil, and it sees the Thunderbolts, a ragtag group of misfits and anti-heroes, teaming up. It doesn't give away much about the plot, but there's plenty of action, and one moment in particular has fans convinced Taskmaster isn't going to make it.

While we’re left guessing about Valentina’s endgame, the trailer teases a juicy new revelation: she’s acquired Avengers Tower. And that asterisk in Thunderbolts*? It’s because most of the team hates the name, except Red Guardian, who’s enthusiastically embracing it. Marvel's Thunderbolts* hits theaters on May 2, 2025.
