Nigel Farage has been touted for his links to Donald Trump, but there's an important role much closer to home if only Keir Starmer would listen.

Nigel Farage has told the Reform UK conference the British government needs to do everything it can to welcome Mr Trump and negotiate a trade deal.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has shared what it was like at Mar-a-Lago during US election night last week. “It was an honour, a genuine honour to be the only British person in the room,” Mr Farage told Sky News host Paul Murray.

Farage, the Brexit-campaigner and self-described troublemaker, is a friend of Trump and was at his election victory party in Florida. He has offered to act as an interlocutor between the British government and the Trump administration, which takes power in January.

Farage, who leads the upstart, right-wing Reform UK, won a seat in the U.K. parliament for the first time at the general election in July, helping to erode the Conservative vote as the party was booted out of office.

Nigel Farage, the Honourable Member for Trumpland (and also Clacton), staged a rare visit to the Commons for Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday to crow about his mate Donald’s re-election as US president.

Despite being a political opponent to Britain’s center-left Labour government as leader of the Reform UK party, Farage has said he would be willing to help build bridges with the U.S. for the U.K.’s “future survival.”
